 INSIDE OUT

Amber at Damask Love calls this "inside out stationary.  You can see how to do it on her blog here.
I had lots of fun making a set of these as a gift.  Used a variety of dies and matching stamps so that I had 6 different cards.

I used a distress pen to color the butterfly.  These cards are fast, fun and easy to make.

Supplies:
Stamps: HA "Antique Butterfly"; PTI "Turning a New Leaf"; Technique Tuesday sentiment
Ink: Memento "Tuxedo Black; PTI "Simply Chartreuse"
Other: dies that matched the HA butterfly; TH distress marker "Spun Sugar";  BG enamel dots

SHADOW STAMPS REVISITED

My stamping friend, Jacqueline, has inspired me to dig out my Hero Arts shadow stamps and use them again.  Added impetus for making this card was a request for masculine sympathy cards with no sentiment - a real challenge for me!  Hope this fills the bill.
I used a HA shadow stamp with silver shadow ink - I took all my wood stamps off the blocks so don't even know which stamp I used.  The flower was embossed with liquid platinum.

Supplies:
Stamp: HA shadow
Other: MB chloe stem die; HA shadow silver ink; Ranger embossing powder.

HERO ARTS SCRAMBLE #80

Today's scramble challenge by Debbie was to create a card using mint and navy - only other colors could be neutrals - and of course to use Hero Arts stamps as main image.
I stitched a strip of Graphic45 paper for a background after embossing the hydrangea in white on navy paper and adding some little punched flowers and pearls.  Another card to await a sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps: HA hydrangea;
Other: HA white embossing powder; MS hydrangea punch; Graphic45 "Sweet Sentiments" paper

HERO ARTS SCRAMBLE

It was scramble time again today with the theme picked by Heather Maria - use neutrals, three other colors, and of course, a HA stamp.  I received some new stuff this week - feather dies and patterned paper - so was happy to have a chance to play with them.  I used a small ball point end of a stylus to draw feather lines in the die cuts to give them some dimension.
Supplies:
Stamps: HA sentiment "Celebrate Everyday" CL498
Paper: IBS
Other: W R Memory Keepers feather die; Stampendous aged aqua embossing powder; MME enamel dots from Chalk Studio line; broken china distress ink to color ribbon

STENCIL IT!

Made this card for a friend who wanted an Easter card without bunnies, eggs, etc.  On the inside is stamped "He has Risen!"  I thought the butterfly would be a good symbol as I didn't have any other Christian stamps.
Supplies:
Stamps: Inspired by Stamping (Australian company)
Ink: HA soft granite ; Memento tuxedo black
Paper: Graphic45
Other: Tim Holtz stencil; Memory box vivienne butterfly; Sizzix leaves; PTI twine

WATERCOLORS

Virginia Lu has created a new challenge on her blog -
to use watercoloring on a card.  So today I created some watercolor backgrounds with distress inks - mostly by just stamping the inks on my craft sheet, adding water and then smushing the watercolor paper into the inks.  I dried the paper with my heat gun and then ironed it on the back with a dry iron to get it flattened.  The first one is my favorite.
I purposely offset the leaf cutout to give it a bit more definition.

I had the colors from Fusion's latest challenge in mind when I made the Easter card.

Card 1 Supplies:
Stamps: HA Italian Poetry; Technique Tuesday sentiment; PTI Meadow Greens
Inks: Ranger Distress victorian velvet and pumice stone: HA cup o' joe
Paper: HA layering paper PS697

Card 2 Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Mum's the Word: HA sentiment
Inks: Ranger Distress victorian velvet
Other: HA layering paper; HA embossing powder; Doodlebug enamel dots;

Card 3 Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Year Round Happiness
Inks: Ranger Distress broken china & tumbled glass
Paper: PP from MME In Bloom; HA watercolor paper
Dies: PTI Beautiful Blooms II #1; Provocraft leaves: PTI Happy

I made this card for Deb Nolan's card chain challenge for February - this is such a fun way to meet friends all over the world with a card.  The colors were to be dusky sage, gray and salmon and follow Deb's sketch.

Supplies:
Stamps: PTI "Pretty Peonies"
Paper: HA layering paper; MME "Chalk Studio"
Other: CB embossing folder; MME enamel dots;  Copic R20 & B0000

Thanks for looking and as always your kind comments.  Betty

HERO ARTS SCRAMBLE #78

The challenge today was to make a "scrapling" - and make 2 of them, layered and using a HA stamp as the main element.  As the name indicates, the card is made from scraps from other cards.
The butterfly one was made from leftovers from cards I was making for the Fusion challenge and the flowers one was just stuff I had in my scrapbasket.  Everyone's scraplings can be seen here.

Stamps: HA sentiments and flower
Other: SB large butterfly, MS medium and small butterflies

ANOTHER CARD FOR FUSION #4

A second card for the Fusion challenge.  It is sort of a reprise of a card I made here for a Dynamic Duo challenge quite some time ago.
Basically used the same stuff as my previous card - not easy to see but the inserted piece is also embossed with the same little butterflies and I just fit it to match up.  I have a stamp that says "He is Risen" and will use this for an Easter card.

Materials:  MB "lorelei leaf outline" and "vivienne butterfly" dies; butterfly cut from Graphic 45 "sweet sentiments"; Recollections tiny pearls; Card Concepts "butterfly kisses" embossing folder.

FUSION #4 CHALLENGE

When I first saw the new challenge from Fusion, I immediately thought of the new papers from Graphic 45 "Sweet Sentiments".  The colors and butterflies in that paper fit so perfectly.

I added some embossing on the top (cut my folder in half again and hinged it from the side with painter's tape) and left off a sentiment as I will put it in my file for future use - I think it needs the sentiment inside anyway as it's a rather busy pattern.

Paper: HA "Midnight" layering paper for the base; Graphic45 patterned paper
Other: MB "Vivienne" butterfly; Card Concepts "Butterfly Kisses" embossing folder; SU candy dots
