WATERCOLORED LEAVES

Here's an entry (rather last minute) for Color Throwdown, CAS(e) This Sketch #143, Time Out Challenge (autumn) and since there is coloring also Virginia's View for this month.  

I watercolored a large piece of Canson paper with Kuretake Gamsai paints and spattered with the gold.  Then die cut the MFT Die-namics leaves.  Sponged walnut stain distress on the top and also on the leaves to tone them down bit.  Added some gold thread and the Clearly Besotted sentiment and done.

 

A little aside - nothing to do with my card - was wondering what the difference was between "spatter" and "splatter" - spatter is what we do on our cards (little drops of water on distress ink, a light spray of color from the tip of a wet brush) - and splatter is done with a sticky or more viscous substance, like mud, when a car going by splashes you.  But I suppose if you used a heavy liquid, like acrylic or oil paint, you could splatter on your card.

RAINBOW TREE LINE

Had done another watercolor piece in rainbow colors, so created this card using an IO tree line die.  Mounted it behind a piece of white gold Neenah metallic card and then onto a base embossed with a snowfall embossing folder.

Added the "peace" sentiment die cut from PTI gold adhesive paper - done and dusted!

Have to hurry and get this posted in time before the Merry Monday challenge ends in an hour or so.

RAINBOW CHRISTMAS

It took me all week to think of a design for this week's Merry Monday challenge.  My problem was that I'm not fond of creating in bright colors - finally decided to do a little watercoloring in rainbow colors and then die cut this MFT tree.

The sentiment was cut from PTI gold adhesive paper and that die comes with the tree die.  The tree parts are raised with foam tape and I used the negative to place the parts evenly on the card base.
