TWOFER FOR TICTACTOE CHALLENGE

I designed the board for this challenge and managed to find a way to use a small leftover piece for a second card.  I went across the bottom with watercolor, bright colors and floral.

I stamped the floral arrangement with black ink on bristol paper and watercolored the flowers with my Zig markers.  After cutting it down to 3.75" by 5" I matted it with navy and then onto a white A2 card base.  Stacked up the "hi" die cut three times with a white halo.

I had a leftover piece and just couldn't put that to waste so made a second card with it.  Matted it with yellow and black and added to a white mini slimline base (3.25"x6.25").  The "thanks" is stacked twice and then three times around the "s" so it would lie flat on the card base.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope to see your creation in this week's challenge.  Crafty hugs.

BUTTERFLY

A very last minute entry for CAS Mix-Up where the challenge is watercolor and things with wings.

I watercolored a piece of watercolor paper with tattered rose distress ink refill.  Just messed around with it until I liked the result.  Die cut the large butterfly and the lacy one and cut them in half.  Embossed the front of the card base and another piece, matched it up and then spattered with more tattered rose.  Added  my butterfly, sentiment and a few enamel dots and done.

Thanks for visiting today and always love to read your kind comments.

PEONY

I chose to go diagonally from left to right (CAS, flowers, leaves) for the TicTacToe Challenge this week.  It's a great board designed by Vicky.

I used colored cardstock for all the petals and leaves and then blended ink on the lower parts for some depth.  Blended more of the same color around the flower - actually just the ink left on my brush was enough color.  My card will fit into an A2 envelope as it is 5.5"x4.25" with the leaves and petals extending from the side.  The flower is from Honey Bee and the sentiment from Memory Box.

Would love to see a card from you in our challenge this week.

SANTA GNOME

As I mentioned previously I have only one Santa stamp - so decided to use my gnome die to make a Santa for the CAS Christmas Challenge for this month.

I used the SSS gnome but sliced off part of his hat to make it more like Santa's hat and then added a white pom pom - actually just a small circle with glossy accents added for a little dimension.  Gave his hat a bit of decoration with a few holly leaves and a red berry (added glossy accents to it also).  Created a background of embossed trees with stars and and a torn paper snowbank.  Added a sentiment across the bottom and done.

Thanks for viewing my blog today - always love to see you here.

CHRISTMAS COLOUR CHALLENGE

Christmas Card Throwdown definitely has a different and non-traditional challenge this week.  After some thought, decided on a wreath for the focus for my card.

Began by die cutting a bunch of leaf sprays in different shades of aqua.  Die cut a very slim circle for the base and then arranged the leaves in three layers.  Added red sequins with aqua seed beads for the "berries".  Used an impression plate for some texture on the card base (4"x5.5") and then added the wreath - offset so it would be off the left side a bit.  Lastly added the sentiment and done!

I'm pleased with the way my card turned out and also that I added another one to my stash!

SKETCH CARD

I very rarely create a card for a sketch challenge - don't know why - maybe because they're too complicated or it just doesn't trip my trigger.  This week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches really appealed to me.

I began by die cutting, stamping and embossing some leaves.  Then I stamped and white embossed the same leaves in the corner of my A2 card base.  Left the stamp in my MISTI.  Diecut the stitched square and put it back in the MISTI so it would line up with the card base.  Stamped and embossed this and also the sentiment.  Temporarily adhered the square to the card base while I arranged and glued down the leaves.  Then, using foam tape, adhered square to card base.  Added the little sequins for some pizazz and done.

Thanks for visiting today and always love to read your kind comments.

SANTA

The new challenge for July at CAS Christmas is "Santa".  I have one Santa stamp and one die - so not too much of anything for starters!!

Decided to use this very old stamp from Jane Doodles and began by coloring him.  Didn't like it.  Tried various designs in black and white - didn't like those either.  Finally went with the gray/blue cs in a light and darker shade.  The snowflake embossing folder is from Sizzix and also very old.  After embossing I went over the raised parts with white ink.  The frame around Santa is some silver metallic and the sentiment is from the same set as the Santa stamp.  After assembling, I added clear sequins and done!

I am also entering my card at Die Cut Divas where the theme is "Christmas in July".

Thanks for stopping by.
