Hello, friends. Just a note to say there won't be any cards from me for awhile. I had a knee replaced on 18 April and last Tuesday, fell and tore open the knee where the stitches were. Fortunately the new knee was ok, but tore the quad tendon and am in a full leg cast. Had to have emergency surgery to repair it all - am in the hospital until tomorrow and then will go to a rehab facility for don't know how long. Since I live alone, I'm pretty helpless when it comes to getting up. Cast will be on for 4 weeks - a real bummer. I am good - a little down at times - my kids are coming the end of the month to help me celebrate my birthday (even my son from England and my granddaughter) so have that to look forward to. So I guess you'll see me when you see me. All for now. Betty
Sending hugs & positive thoughts, my friend. Feeling so helpless & wishing I was close enough to be an in-person visitor while you recover. So wonderful your kids are coming--keep thinking about that! Big virtual hugs, Greta

ReplyDeleteVery sorry to hear this, Betty. I look forward to your posts every day. I live alone, too, and often wonder how I would function with a leg or foot injury. Glad you have children coming to help you and at least brighten your spirits. Take care, take it slow, and heal quickly.
ReplyDeleteOh, no! This is very harsh news indeed. I am so very sorry that you're experiencing this! You;re in my prayers and I hope you get better ASAP. Would you like us to send you stamped images to color in bed?
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of your medical situation, Betty. I think I have swapped cards with you through CCC. Know lots of stampers are thinking about you.
ReplyDeleteOh No! Oh, Betty, I'm so sorry to hear about your trouble. I live with my husband and cannot imagine how I would be functioning without his help (I had major surgery the beginning of April. Bless your heart, I will be praying for you. I hope you can give us some updates as you go along. My dad was in a rehab facility and got really good care. The whole atmosphere was very very different from the hospital. The place was filled with healing and hope, as all the people were expected to get better. I'll be praying that you get some excellent caregivers and that you will improve very quickly and be able to get back to the crafting and other things that you love soon! Hugs, treen

Hi Betty -- I came by to say hello and thank you for the very kind and thoughtful comments you have been leaving on my blog. Imagine my surprise to read you update and find out you were had this awful full after have knee surgery -- Oh my! I can remember very well my recovery period after my hip replacement surgery -- it was not a "joy" by any means and can't imagine how much worse it would have been had I fallen! I am so very sorry and hope you are hearling and on the mend. I also wanted to say thanks for the sweet notes about my new grand-daughter "Harper" who is my little LOVE. I never knew I could love anyone so much -- my boys have always been my loves, but she is right up there with them and has made me so very happy. I'm so blessed that I have been able to fight hard in my Cancer Battle and be doing pretty well. She is like a miracle and I'm so thankful and grateful to have her in my LIFE! It's pure JOY and she makes me very happy! Hugs to you and I hope yo'll be feeling much better very soon!

Oh Betty, I don't know you but I'm sending an air hug thru the computer anyway. Do get well soon. I am one of the many who have enjoyed your inspiration so much and hope to see you up and creating soon.
ReplyDeleteDang I just read what happened to you. So sorry to hear that happened. It's enough to go through surgery itself but then a fall. I am glad to hear you are at home now and coming along in your healing. It's nice you got some coloring in while healing.
