Spring in Nebraska is rather erratic to say the least - yesterday hail the size of golf balls and gale force winds! Bright, sunny and 23 degrees this morning!! But it is spring and I decided to Copic color some spring flowers on vellum. Not a good idea if you want to arrange a bouquet,
The green leaves showed through under the flowers and looked weird. To remedy the situation, I ran the flowers through my Xyron and then adhered them to a piece of white cardstock. Fussy cut the flowers and then did my arrangement. Did a little light blue watercoloring around the flowers, added the sentiment, a few enamel dots and done.
Will add my card to several challenges - Tic Tac Toe (orange, pink, yellow), Color Throwdown (orange, pink, yellow, green), Simon Says Stamp (colors from egg photo), Seize the Birthday (spring fling) and SSS Flickr Challenge (anything goes).
Thanks for visiting and love to read your kind comments.

Well done on persevering with your card Betty - those flowers look lovely and the blue watercolouring behind really lifts them. Great addition of the black enamel dots too. Thanks for playing along at Tic-Tac-Toe this week!
ReplyDeleteOne of the nicest flower arrangements I've seen this spring! Can't believe your weather though...hailstones and then 23 degrees?? You must be hardy people to survive that! I freeze at anything much below 55 degrees...yes, I'm wimpy.
ReplyDeleteLove those SSS flowers, lovely arrangement.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spring card! The flowers are perfect. Thanks for linking up with us at Seize the Birthday!
ReplyDelete23 degrees in April?! I thought our mid 30s was cold for Spring! Just love this card, Betty! Glad you figured out what to do as your bouquet is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Nancy, really pretty design, thankyou for playing along at Seize the Birthday, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteYour card turned out beautiful Betty. Love the softness of the colours on the vellum. Great idea to put it onto a white card before cutting out. Such a pretty card.
ReplyDeleteI love these sweet florals and you've reminded me I need to ink mine up soon! Your card is beautiful and a lovely take on the throwdown challenge!
ReplyDeleteThis is SO pretty! The vellum flowers are just gorgeous! Thanks for playing with our challenge this week at Tic Tac Toe! LeAnne, DT
