SPLASH

CAS Watercolour challenge this month is to use the splash technique (see the above link on how to do it) on a card.

My friend, Cat, had sent me these beautiful mondo sakura which she had stamped one in black and one gold embossed.  Both of them were colored with distress markers and a little water.  The backgrounds were done with the splash technique using distress ink.  After coloring the flowers, I just fussy cut them and put them on the backgrounds.  On the top part of the flower where it was too intricate to fussy cut, I just added a little ink so it would look like I had cut it out.

Had so much fun making those backgrounds - I think it works better than "smooshing".

I am also entering my pink card in The Flower Challenge for making a monochrome card.

Thanks for dropping by today and always love to read your kind comments.

  1. Will check out what splashing is as I really love the look you got here, Betty! Beautiful way to color those beautiful flower. I may case you to use the ones Cat sent to me! That pink card is so gorgeous & how clever to add color where you can't really fussy cut!

  2. I can't wait to check out the splashing as the smooshing is not my forte. You have made gorgeous cards out of those stamped panels. Let me know if you want more.

Did you know you can add two pics from a single post if you add ?1 after the end of your link. If you have three total just add ?2 to the third and so on. Seems a shame not to link up the blue too.

  7. Gorgeous cards Betty, the gold embossing on your entry to THE FLOWER CHALLENGE looks amazing with the soft pinks of your flowers. What a clever idea to add the dark ink to create lift on your fussy cut images.
Thank you for playing along with us at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE, hope you play again soon.
