Recently I took a watercolor class from Altenew taught by Jennifer Rzasa.  I was sort of a lazy student and only got three of the homework assignments finished.  Besides making a swatch page for my watercolors, I did manage to make a couple of cards.

For this assignment we were to do a watercolor wash and then overlay a stencil, weight it down and let it dry.  When dry and you removed the stencil, the imprint of it should be visible.  I used the Dahlia stencil but it didn't really show up too much.  So I just stamped over it with the Sketchy Floral stamp and added it to a card base with a little sentiment.

On the next cards we were to put watercolor directly onto a stamp and then stamp.  I used my MISTI with a layered stamp so I could get some variation in colour.  Did some spattering on both cards before adding to a card base.  On all of my cards today, I was using the new Altenew watercolor set.

All the Altenew classes are so good and I've learned so much from their various instructors.  They're worth checking out.

Thanks for stopping by and love to read your kind comments.

  1. Lazy student or not--boy did you end up with 3 gorgeous cards, Betty! The first one is unique & so different than what I tend to do for sympathy cards--love it!

  2. I love how you used your stenciled watercolour background. I didn't have much success with my sample either... now have some ideas for using it. And your watercolour stamped flowers are amazing.... I only used one layer - wish I had done them like yours. stunning!

  3. Beautiful cards, Betty ...love Them all. They looks amazing with this watercolor look

  4. Three beauties, Betty! Especially love the pink wash with the black outline flower!!

  5. These are all beautiful, Betty! I really like those sketchy flowers and how they look on your first card. (I just got an order from Altenew and somehow missed this set!) Your twofer layered flower cards are sensational! Hugs, Darnell

  6. Gorgeous cards, Betty! Great save on the first one and I love how you watercolored the flowers on your CAS cards! Thanks for the links to Altenew :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave comments - they make my day!
