CARD CHAIN CHALLENGE

It's been awhile since I exchanged a card in the Card Chain Challenge - this month I get to send a card to my great blogging friend, Cat in Maryland.  While I was in rehab she sent me a little kit of prestamped flowers, sentiments, card bases, even a little scissors - everything I would need so I could keep on crafting.  That (along with lots of chocolate and visits from other friends) really kept me going while there for four weeks!!  I am now going to p.t. 3 times a week and getting a real workout on the knee.  This week I have to get it to bend 90 degrees - still have to wear the brace and use the walker, no driving, have figured out how to get my shoes on - baby steps!

I used the sketch and the colors suggested for this month - pale peach, pale yellow and pink.  The black and white stripe is some washi tape and there is a piece of vellum behind that.  Arranged the little flowers on top with some sequins and seed beads in the flower centers, added the sentiment and done.

It's always such a fun surprise to get some happy mail with this challenge - check it out and join in.

Thanks for visiting today and love to read your kind comments.

  2. I really like the simplicity of this card, and it's beautiful as well. I've been looking for ways to use my washi tape stash, and this card will be perfect. I plan to CASE your card for my next stamp camp, but will make it my own, too. Glad to hear you're doing better, Betty.

  5. Love your card and it's just beautiful. Even with all your difficulty, you haven't lost your wonderful talent. I'm just under two weeks away from having had my knee replaced and started out-patient PT today, which is going to be more vigorous than the in-home type I was receiving. I've discovered it will be more painful than the PT I received when I had hip replacement, but it will be worth it. You are a shining inspiration to me and I am thankful that something can be done to keep us walking! Take care and blessings!

    1. hi barbara - i would like to reply to you but can't find a link to an email or anything - right under my picture on the upper right is a "contact me" link if you'd like to send me an email. yes p.t. will hurt, but you progress so much faster than you do with the home health care p.t.

  7. Betty I so loved opening up your envelope to see this gorgeous card. It resides up on my card wall display and I love checking it out as I pass by. Thank you too for the die cuts. They'll be going west with me while I house sit for my Dad in a few weeks.

  11. To think I have been whining about no driving until Labor Day after my recent hip surgery. Indeed, you are an inspiration for us card makers and PT goers! Thanks! :-)
