I made this card awhile ago but thought it was a good one for this day of the total eclipse. Will be having lunch with some friends and viewing the eclipse around 1 pm - Lincoln, NE is in a great spot for observing.
Decided to add a pic of the eclipse - it was very cloudy but the eclipse is at the center top of the picture - it was very eerie - lots of wind and then it would die down, temp went from 84 down to 78, very silent - no birds chirping at all, never got as dark as i expected - it was really a unique experience. Watched it at a friend's house - had lunch including moon pies, sun chips - i made a green pea salad with cheese (the moon is made of green cheese!) - anyway a memorable day.
So to all of of you who read my blog, you truly do brighten my day.
Fabulously apt card Betty! Happy 'Eclipse Day'! It's an incredible phenomenon to witness, we were lucky enough to witness one, back in about 1999 (I think), and it was quite eerie, but at the same time, exciting! Enjoy it my friend, you will never forget it! Have a great week! Luv & Hugs. Hazel xx

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Betty, and so glad you had a chance to see something of the eclipse!!
ReplyDeleteYour eclipse card is so creative, Betty! Love the watercoloured background and those gold rings. Great design. We watched the eclipse from our back porch. It was so cool. xx
ReplyDeleteOh you are so clever, Betty--amazing card! Your lunch sounds fun--sorry you had so many clouds. I was surprised totality wasn't darker, too. We were so fortunate to have a totally clear sky that morning. Wouldn't have seen anything if it had been yesterday or today--all clouds!
ReplyDelete'You' brighten my day whenever I visit your blog, Betty! Really awesome card, especially that it commemorates the eclipse! Lucky you to have a front row seat for this once in a lifetime event, and it sounds like you and your friends had fun with the menu, too :)
