MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

Since I am woefully lacking in "critter" stamps, Linda kindly stamped some of these cute little penguins.

For the background, I used the new HA snowflake confetti die backed with some silver glitter paper.  Made the snowbanks by tearing some cs and adding Spectrum Noir to the edges.  Added the little sentiment and done.

There's still time to enter A Blog Named Hero's October challenge which is critters.   A great prize is ready to be won from our partner this month, Lawn Fawn.

Thanks for visiting today and love to read your kind comments.

SHADES OF C & 9TH

Finally came up with a card for Concord & 9th's challenge for this month which is to use the colors in their logo.  I hate to say this, but bought this stamp set awhile ago and this is first time I've inked it up.

I stamped the lace leaf in Versamark on heavy vellum and white embossed.  Fussy cut and colored it on the back with my Zigs and a little water.  Stamped the background with HA ombre and did a little more spattering with the same ink and water.  Added the little sentiment and a few sequins and done.

FLOWER CHALLENGES

Made a flower card for two challenges today - The Flower Challenge (favorite flower) and CAS on Friday (flower).  Designing a flower card was not the difficult part - it was choosing a favorite.  Finally settled on PTI's Bold Blossoms - ever since it first came out, I have been making cards with it.

I have used this set in so many ways - for my card today I only colored the two largest flowers with my Zigs and a little water.  The sentiment is from Concord & 9th Happy die and stamps.  Covered the "happy" with glossy accents and added it to my card along with rest of the sentiment and some black Nuvo drops.

SPIDER WEB

The color scheme at Color Throwdown this week is purple, black and white...

and here's another Halloween card to add to my stash!

The web is a really old stamp which I first stamped in black and clear embossed - added the DO ink and then stamped the spider web again in a light tan.  Die cut the frame, popped it up with some foam tape, placed the center part back in, added the sentiment and the spider and done.  The spider's eyes are little gold Nuvo drops!

AUTUMN LEAVES

The challenge at CAS Watercolour this month is fall leaves.  Awhile back I had seen this video and wanted to give it a try.  It's called "watercolor dip" and involves soaking your die cut in water and then dropping colors onto the wet piece.  So I die cut a bunch of leaves from watercolor paper, soaked them and started adding colors.  It was fun and fast to do.  After they were dry, I added the gold embossed veins.

For the card on the left, I used a distress oxide background and the one on the right is just some watercolours.  I can't decide which one I like better so am entering both.

I am also entering my cards at Dies R Us where the challenge is "leaves" and Happy Little Stampers challenge which is watercolour with a twist of gold.

Thanks for stopping by and your comments make my day.

MORE FALL/HALLOWEEN CARDS

Today I have two cards for the challenge at The Paper Players this week which is a color combo of orange, brown and yellow and for Color Throwdown where the colors are orange, taupe and black. Hope you're not tired my Halloween cards yet!!!

The card on the left uses some dies I've had forever and just made a little scene with them.  The card on the right uses an embossing folder that was inked with the oranges, dark yellows and tans.  Ran it through my CB and then I added more ink along the trees  The pumpkin is wood that had been glittered.  Added a couple of shiny bats along with the little sentiment - done!

Thanks for the visit today and love to read your kind comments.

GOING BATTY

The challenge theme this month at A Blog Named Hero is "critters" - and I just don't "do" critters very well.  Decided tho that bats are critters and found some in my HA collection and think I created a pretty fun Halloween card.

Stamped the YNS Mini Batty Background Spatter and a couple of bats from HA Halloween Trimmings Stamp and Cut with some HA black ink and clear embossed.  Die cut this with the MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle.  The pumpkin was die cut from HA Autumn Icons - to keep the pieces together I used micropore tape on the back.  Dusted some copper Perfect Pearls to give it some shine, added the little twine bow and the copper embossed sentiment.  Put some fun foam on the back and mounted on a card base.
Enter the challenge here and be eligible for a prize from this month's sponsor, Lawn Fawn.

Am also entering this in CAS on Sunday where the theme is fall or Halloween

Thanks for visiting today and your kind comments are so much appreciated.

PUMPKIN SHAKER

The theme this week at CAS on Sunday is fall or Halloween.  Love making cards for my family and friends for Halloween so added another one to my stash.
Used the PTI shaker pumpkin die and a little golden spider.  Added some Spectrum Noir to the pumpkin for a little more pizazz!
So glad you stopped by and love to read your comments!

OCTOBER CCC

This month I'm sending my card to my good stamping friend, Greta in Or.  I followed the sketch and the colors for the CCC challenge pretty closely.

I used the embossed impression technique from Jennifer McGuire - it didn't come out as good as hers did, but I 'm happy with it.  Used leaf dies from Concord & 9th to make the impression and then watercolored them with DO inks.  Did some spattering with gold metallic paint and added some Nuvo drops and the sentiment.

WHITE PUMPKIN

I loved the photo challenge for The Card Concept this week and immediately thought of my PTI pumpkin die from quite a few years ago.  So used the pumpkin and colors to make this card.

I guess it could be in the classy and elegant category.  Die cut the pumpkin parts, added the layers to the front and ran it through a dotted embossing folder.  Die cut the leaves from some pretty, shiny paper, added a bit of ink around the edges and some clear Nuvo drops, attached the back and done.

AUTUMN LEAVES

The CAS Mix-Up challenge this month is to use layering stencils.  My challenge was to find some stencils that would look ok being layered - or rather finding a stencil that had some open space so that another stencil could be layered with it.  Finally settled on the Tim Holtz autumn leaves and a speckled stencil also from TH.

First I stenciled the leaves with various distress inks.  Then used the speckles stencil with some copper ink (the brownish speckles).  Next I put Versamark over all the leaves (using the stencil) and clear embossed so I could add some color to the background without changing the color of the leaves.  Die cut the piece with the MFT wonky stitched die, matted it with some blue and then onto an oatmeal base.  Die cut the "thanks" three times and then added some clear Nuvo to give it sparkle.  A few sequins finished it.

Not too much stamping (only the "giving" in the sentiment), embossing, layering stencils and die cutting are all included.
