MORE CAS MIX-UP

For the CAS Mix-Up challenge today, I chose to heat emboss my Altenew Peony Dream and Fantasy Floral dies.

Began by using Altenew's golden peach embossing powder on the largest Peony Dream die - then progressed with a piece of vellum, copper, platinum and silver embossing powders.  The little black and yellow center was die cut and clear heat embossed.  Added the flowers to a pale gray 4x3.75 piece and then to a white card base.  The sentiment is stamped inside my card as I thought anything else would take away from the flower.

My second card uses the same embossing powders and is on a HA black card base.  Embossing these lovely dies cuts is not my idea - I think I saw Lydia Evans do something like it awhile back but can't find where it was - sorry I can't link.  Also realized when I was looking at some cards I had pinned that my design is very similar to one Lin did with different stamps - it must have stuck in my mind when I did the card - didn't really mean to copy.

In my cards I have used heat embossing, die cuts, stamping, vellum and I guess putting the flowers together could be called paper piecing.

I am also entering my cards at CAS-ual Fridays #203 heat embossing challenge.

 Thanks for visiting today...

  8. Absolutely stunning and such a glorious effect with the heat embossing. I am always inspired by other very creative crafters and I will often keep an idea somewhere in my head, only to come out when a challenge inspires me. Wonderful cards, both of them. Love the dark card stock on card number two and the colours of the embossing are stunning on both of your beautiful cards x Thanks for joining in The CAS Mix Up Challenge x
