All this past week I have been taking Altenew's Progressive Cardmaking class with Justine Hovey where everyday she has been making cards in easy, intermediate and advanced styles. Day 1 was about stamping and day 2 was stenciling and here are my homework cards.
With her technique I only had to arrange my stamps on the MISTI and stamp, then flip the card and stamp again. One of the extra cards was by Therese where she had added foiling to the flowers so added that for some extra interest. Then I went around in between the flowers with my gold pen and drew little dots.
My next two cards are for the stenciling class.
My next two cards are for the stenciling class.
The card on the left is layered stenciling using Watercolor Bouquet and the one the right uses the two Dahlia stencils. I'm ashamed to say I've had these stencils for quite some time and have never used them. To adhere the vellum on the dahlia card I added Stick-It to the vellum before die cutting it. Then I stamped and embossed the sentiment and finally took off the paper backing and put the vellum piece on my card front. On both cards I used some blending brushes.
Now to carry on with next four days of homework!!!
Thanks for visiting today and love to read your kind comments.

ReplyDeleteYour homework is stunning Betty. It's been a cool class to take. Love the idea of the gold embossing/foiling and the use of the gold pen. Great idea for the vellum. I never thought of doing that.
