Made a couple of cards for challenges that will end soon - I miss so many 'cause I don't pay attention to ending dates.
Two Old Bats is an "anything goes" Halloween challenge altho there is always an inspiration photo.
I blended a nightime background on a piece of tan cardstock - masked off a circle for the moon and then just left it as the moon color except for a few gray streaks for clouds. Added the die cut trees and finished it off with some sparkle bats.
My next card is for the birthday slimline challenge at MFT and also RetroRubber Challenge where the theme is pastels.
I used my MFT floral fantasy stamps and dies and arranged them over the lattice background. Put some glossy accents in the flower centers for a little pizazz.
My last card is for CAS Mix-Up where the theme was to use paper piecing on a card.
I first die cut the outline from black cs and adhered to the card base. Then I went thru my pp stash and found this really pretty piece that had a watercolor look to it and all in shades of pink. Die cut that and then pieced all the pink into the spaces. Did the same for the green leaf. Found a snip of yellow for the stamen. Added some clear dewdrops on the petals and the heat embossed sentiment and done. The "mix-up" elements on my card are paper piecing, die cutting and heat embossing.
Gorgeous paper pieced with several pieces of different Designer Papers. I love how the petals look like they were watercolored because of the paper you chose. The paper for the leaf was perfect too. So pleased you joined us at CAS Mix Up, Jane. TFS your other two cards too:-) Love and Hugs...Nancy
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy again, Betty!! Wonderful trio of cards - such a fun Halloween card with the trees and bats! Just love the slimline with the white striped die behind the flowers and the gorgeous paper pieced flower!!
ReplyDeleteThree beautiful cards Betty! LOVE the gorgeous paper pieced hibiscus ... just the perfect papers used to give the flower a watercoloured look. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up. FYI, your pastel flower card would work for this month's The Flower Challenge too!
ReplyDeleteOooh, Betty, I get to wear two hats today! The first is for your fabulous Halloween card with the beautifully blended background and glittery bats flying through the spooky trees. I love that you played along with us at Two Old Bats! My second hat is for the CAS Mix Up paper piecing challenge. How pretty your flower is with the perfect papers you chose! The dew drops are a nice touch. Thanks for joining us! I also want to say how lovely your slimline flower card is, too. Retro Rubber is one of my favorite challenges that I hardly manage to play in. I love that it requires older stamps. What a nice visit I had here today!
