I was going to throw the background paper in the trash because I got some darker ink mixed in with the pink and to me it looked rather messy.  But then, I decided to see if I could rescue it.  Jennifer Mcguire has been singing the praises of "liquid platinum" embossing powder and had to buy it.  So embossed the roses and leaves with it and it all sort of came together.  The dark spots didn't look so bad anymore.
The leaves were scraps left over from another project and actually were diecut from different papers, but when emobossed the base paper doesn't matter.  Am actually quite pleased with the end result and am glad I didn't toss that piece.

Stamps: PTI "Rosie Posie"; Technique Tuesday sentiment
Other: HA layering paper & embellishments; Ranger embossing powder; SSS leaf die; Perfect Pearls and Ranger distress ink "spun sugar" on background piece

Thanks for looking.  Betty

  1. What a great save, Betty! I love the shade of this new embossing powder for your flowers and leaves, and how you layered your papers on this card...so pretty!

  2. Glad you didn't "throw" it, too! Beautiful card, Betty :)

  3. Beautiful card and great embossing and stitching

    Hugs, Lissy
