I wanted to emboss the background for this card - already had the card cut and folded when I decided that I wanted that little extra texture and didn't want to add an extra layer.  But...the way embossing folders are made, the emboss would have been upside down and there was no way I knew of to do just the front.  So I cut it in half at the fold, carefully matched up the two pieces on just the front of the card and taped it all well in place - ran it thru and it worked perfectly.  I was happy!!

I trimmed the sides down to make it 4" by 5 1/2" and added the striped piece to cover where the embossing ended on the left side.  The striped paper and the paper I used for the flowers and leaves came from a new pad I bought at JoAnn's yesterday - MME "Chalk Studio" - and of course I had to buy the matching enamel dots!  I shaded the flowers and leaves with a little copic marker to give them a little more depth.  This is one of the cards that will go in my stash with a sentiment added when needed.

Stamps: PTI "Pretty Peonies"
Paper: HA layering paper; MME "Chalk Studio"
Other: CB embossing folder; Sizzix leaf die; Copic R20 & B0000

Thanks for looking.  Betty

  1. This is really gorgeous, Betty! I love the color combo and the patterned paper paired with the embossed panel is just beautiful!

  2. So pretty - that embossing is such a lovely detail! And I love how you can just add whatever sentiment you need whenever you need! Clever!

  3. Love the colour scheme and you were brave to adapt you folder. Turned out fabulous.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave comments - they make my day!
