SPOTLIGHT OF COLOR

The other day, my friend, Becca Cruger did a post using a coloring page - I thought it was such a fantastic idea, I made my own coloring page and did a spotlight of color.

I stamped a background using Hero Arts flowers and leaves from their April monthly kit and used my MISTI because I wanted a nice dark black.  Trimmed down the panel and die cut the circle.  I colored the flowers and leaves with my Zigs (light carmine and tea rose)and a damp brush finishing the section with a Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen.  Adhered the panel to the card base, popped up the colored piece with fun foam and added the sentiment (old MB die I think).

I am entering this in CAS-Mix Up challenge for this month as the theme is to use markers, stamping and another element which is die cuts for me.

Thanks for stopping by and your kind comments.

  8. Such a clever idea, Betty! I love how you created your own coloring page and your spotlight of color is so pretty! Beautiful shades of pink on the flower petals, and your 'fine' scripty sentiment works perfectly! I'll bet it's really sparkly in person, too...Stunning card!

  10. Your coloring book page had me doing a double take. I thought for sure it was a page from a book. I have seen such pretty work from those. I just got myself the "Paintly Days,Flowers" so that I could try it. You have recreated the look so perfectly and the best part is you could easily duplicate the spotlight area. Very clever!
