PINK BLOSSOMS

PINK BLOSSOMS

I used a technique today that I had never tried before - stencil monoprint - which was the challenge at Happy Little Stampers.  It also fits the April CAS Mix Up challenge which is stenciling and Addicted to CAS for inlaid dies.

I began by doing the background monoprint on watercolor paper with HA's tweed stencil and distress inks in worn lipstick and abandoned coral plus lots of water since I was going for a softer look. Die cut the piece and matted it. I cut the blossoms and leaf from pink, green and gold using Stick-It on the gold for the inlaid parts.  I darkened the flowers and leaf by sponging on more worn lipstick and some peeled paint ink to provide some contrast to the background.  Put it all together and added the sentiment stamped in gold and a few sequins - and done!!

For CAS Mix Up challenge I used stamping with a stencil and sponging for the criteria of using 3 techniques.

Thanks for visiting today and love your kind comments.
