SENDING LOVE...

I had a day of playing around with alcohol inks and made a bunch of backgrounds.  Then comes the challenge of doing something with them - some I don't want to cut up and others I think belong in the bin!!  Today's card uses one my favorites - love the soft colors - I've been using MIndy Eggen's technique of using a hair dryer to push the ink around - very fun.

Used the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch #374 for my design.  The flower is stamped on vellum as is the sentiment.  I ran the flowers and sentiment through my Xyron in order to adhere them without adhesive showing.  Used a black gel pen to give more definition to the ends of the stamen.

  1. I know exactly what you meant. I make loads of backgrounds and then can't decide what to do with them. I particularly love alcohol ink and this background is stunning, I love the colours and it works beautifully on this card xx

  2. This is a stunning background and probably didn't even need the flower! I too have a stash of backgrounds that I need to figure out what to do with... Some I'm using to die cut words and/or letters..which is a great use for these backgrounds.

  3. Love your soft background, Betty! I still need to try that technique--if I ever get my table cleared enough so I have room! The vellum flower is so pretty!

  7. Beautiful background, Betty!! Such a perfect choice of colors and I love your marbling!! To answer your question on my blog, I'm remembering you introducing yourself on the HA group and mentioning LaCrosse so I had to message you. Long time ago, my friend - how you're still doing well!!
