A COUPLE OF MORE CHALLENGES

I'm really not a "last minute" person, but seems that's what has happened with my card making this week.  Realized Darnell's Twofer challenge was ending tomorrow and have been meaning to enter since the theme is "garden" - but only came up with an idea today!!!

I used MFT's Flashy Florals for both cards.  On the sympathy card I just used two shades of gray ink and only stamped the base layer of the flowers and leaves.  The second card is a pop-up card a la Jennifer Mcguire's technique.  So difficult to photograph.  Some of the leaves are stamped inside the card but no matter how I propped it up to photograph it was just all shadows.  I am going to enter this card also at MFT's Birthday Challenge.

Thanks for visiting today and love to read your kind comments.

  1. Betty, your two designs are wonderful and different. The sympathy card in gray tones is very soothing. Your birthday card is sweet and its fun to see the inside stuff peeking through the window. Thanks for playing along with Twofer Card Challenge #18.

  2. I'm so glad your idea machine came through before the challenge ended, Betty! And what a great idea it had, too! I love the monochrome stamping on your sympathy card and the wonderful depth you achieved! And I'm intrigued by the window design with the leaves in the background of your birthday card! It's fantastic! I'm off to check JM's video, so thank you for sharing the link. And thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #18! Hugs, Darnell

  4. These are two lovely cards with wonderful designs, Betty. Your gardens absolutely shine! Using shades of gray for your sympathy card is a perfect way to turn the blooms and leaves into a very subtle and very appropriate design. It works so well. Your birthday card is pretty and happy, and I'll pop off to Jennifer's blog to check out this technique. Love the peachy color you've used with those sweet green leaves. Two great cards! Thanks so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev

  5. Beautiful cards you've come up with Betty! I'm the same...I'm on the last day and finally got two done. Sympathy cards are difficult to do and yours is perfectly done.
